For 2 years in a row Sony once again puts that boring Destiny’s Child crap on this Dvd. Why does Sony maintain ruining Christmas classics like this and now Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town with a tedious Mariah Carey video. When is this listless so-called trend going to terminate. Leave the Christmas classics(Rudolf,Chilly,Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town) as is.Please, NO MORE EXTRA SONGS & VIDEOS…these are not first-rate extras they are impartial pure crap!!!
The DVD transfer is comely estimable but the scene with Yukon discovering peppermint has been slit.

Handheld Automobile Navigation Systems
October 6th, 2010There are many different varieties of automobile navigation Methods. Among the quite a few you will locate those that come factory installed, individuals which are attached to the interior of your automobile through the use of suction cups, and still others which might be handheld products which can merely be installed by attaching a cord to your cars cigarette lighter. These equipment do not offer you fairly the functionality and ease of use as some in the other (require I say pricier) types of navigational units but you must not be fooled by features that you may not uncover all that valuable in reality.
I’m a bargain hunter by nature. There genuinely is nothing I can do to change my thrifty (some may possibly say cheap) nature. I like having nice things but would like to get them although spending as little money in the process as probable. For this reason alone I decided to seriously look at some from the several handheld navigational tools about the market today.
There are numerous reasons I come across these devices attractive. First of all, they suit a lot of purposes. Not only are they useful when traveling by car (in case you buy the right software obviously), they are also fairly useful when taking your travels off road as well. You are able to use them four wheeling within the country, riding horses in wide open spaces, hiking within the hills and mountains, or when getting away by bike for the day. My personal favorite use for these nifty tools on the other hand is about the water. I’m a horrible navigator and a mapping handheld GPS is just the thing to keep me on track and on target.
I don’t know about you, but I hate feeling as though I am totally and utterly lost. It is usually a frightening feeling which is only intensified whenever there are children on board during those lost moments in time. Only somebody who has ever experienced that feeling whilst looking into the eyes of her babies and feeling so alone on top of being so lost can genuinely realize. There merely aren’t adequate words to describe the deep down inside fear that can take hold in situations for example this if allowed.
The greatest action to take is proactive. Avoid putting yourself in situations where you will feel lost. This certainly, hasn’t usually been probable inside the past. Having a navigational device on hand at all times can go such a long way towards alleviating that fear and calming any qualms a person may possibly have about the must travel to unfamiliar places at time. Since we must occasionally stray from the world we know, love, and are familiar with it truly is excellent to know that you will discover products to assist us locate our way in several situations.
If you are trying to find a wonderful gift to give almost anyone on your Christmas list this year, a nice handheld GPS system with mapping capabilities can be a excellent gift to give. Certainly, you do not really have to wait until the holidays as a way to give a gift including this-especially if you happen to be giving it to somebody whose safety is of great importance to you. I think anyone who drives, bikes, boats, floats, hikes, or rows could uncover a fantastic deal of use for tools including this, particularly females who appreciate these activities and occasionally get pleasure from them alone.
No matter what your specific needs in automobile navigation Methods may well be, there are many Methods that could suit them quite nicely. Take the time to study what is obtainable and reconcile your wants with your budget so that you can locate the one which will work best for you. Handheld GPS Techniques with mapping abilities offer a highly affordable choice along with some surprising additional features, which will make them attractive in and out on the automobile. Very good luck in finding the ideal auto navigation method for you. It’s out there somewhere.

First is Where the Wild Things Are, a memoir of a boy having a dream about pleasurable monsters after being sent to his room for punishment. The illustrations are gallant and the reading and accompanying sound and music add to the tale. Next is In the Night Kitchen, which is read and sung. The tune is very catchy. One sign, this is also a dream memoir. As the boy, Mickey, dreams he is falling his pajamas drop off. The nudity is not graphic, but you could skip that chronicle if it bothers you. The rest of the stories are from the Nutshell books, which Carole King set aside to music for her project Really Rosie. These tunes are absolutely unbelievable. Your children will protest along and screech them other times, too. Chicken Soup With Rice seems to be the common of my slight library patrons. They will negate it any time they state the book. And, these are pleasant songs that adults relish as well, not cloyingly contaminated kiddie songs that will fray your nerves. The Nutshell books are Chicken Soup With Rice, Pierre, One Was Johnny, and Alligators All Around.
This DVD is definitely on my “must have” list for my library’s DVD collection in our children’s room.
My family has had this product for about 20 yrs, since it was on VHS tape! The songs are awesome, the animation is amazing, Carole King is awesome. We composed admire these songs! Your kids will be pleased it too.

True Lies is a movie about an U. S. examine (played by Arnold Swarzennegger) who tries to support his lawful occupation a secret from his wife( played by Jamie Lee Curtis, the daughter of Tony Curtis, and her mother was Janet Leigh.
Anyhow this movie has some hilarious moments, I especially like the venerable car salesman, who reminds me of an ex-friend.
Highly recommended for fans of Arnold Swarzennegger and Jamie Lee Curtis. I didn’t realize she could play a sexy role.

Meet Arnold Swarzennegar – incredible James Bond type scrutinize who’s absolutely clueless as a husband and father. He starts out as impeccable as 007, who he is obviously spoofing, but then loses it and goes crazy when he suspects his wife (Jamie Lee Curtis) is cheating on him.

his best buddy, Tom Arnold from “Roseanne” fame, is the perfect laughable foil. It’s really Tom that makes this act/adv stand out from the crowd. The dialogue is quickly, droll, and Tom takes it to the limit. Also up for a laugh is Bill Paxton, another Cameron regular (Aliens), who plays a seedy used-car salesman posing as a ogle in order to seduce women. He really goes all the intention, completely unafraid of playing a proper idiot!
It’s unbiased so substantial to gaze an act/adv with spacious action that isn’t minute to the usual, off-hand quips from stoneyfaced he-men. This movie is one of my favorites because it’s a enormous popcorn movie that delivers on many levels. It’s not objective an excuse to blow things up and no one takes themselves too seriously. Everyone obviously had a expansive time making this film and it shows. I hope they get the sequel soon.

I have been a Misty fan since my childhood and fancy all of Marguerite Henry’s books. This is a enormous family film. This film is filled with timeless family values. A improbable film for all ages. Filmed on area in Chincoteague and Assateague the scenery is exquisite. We hope to spy Pony Penning Day first hand next year and observe the recently unveiled Misty statue on Chincoteague.
Paul and Maureen descend in appreciate with The Phantom the first time they notice her on Assateague Island. Their deceased father also loved The Phantom and the two children site their hearts on buying her after the pony roundup. The do all kinds of slight jobs to raise [money] needed to engage her.
When the roundup occurs it is discovered that The Phantom has a young foal which is speedily called Misty and the two choose they want to prefer them both. Both the book and movie characters were based on trusty people (and ponies) . Misty was an equine celebrity with children all over America. After a storm nearly destroyed Chincoteague, the loyal Misty often appeared in theaters where this film was shown to raise money to rebuild the island.
Arthur O’Connell as Grandpa Beebe was a disappointment. He doesn’t suppose in the warm, grizzled ways like the character in the book and he doesn’t even have a Southern accent.
The film was shot in CinamaScope and the video is formatted in pan-and-scan. There are many instances during the film where the cropped characterize looks distorted because of this. If you really want to savor the beauty of this film, maintain out for a widescreen version on DVD. It would be nice if future editions of this film also had a documentary about the exact Misty and her life.

“Carnivàle” is allotment of runt but growing number of quality television shows that are committed to the sort of lengthy and complex anecdote arc that was once the province of the mini-series. But shows like “Wiseguy” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” in the past and modern offerings such as “24″ and “Lost” have paved the plan for television shows that emphasize the enormous describe rather than the more obsolete episodic near. As such, “Carnivàle” is most similar to “Lost,” in that we are ravishing distinct we know what will happen at the demolish of the budge, but we have no belief how many seasons down the road that slay game will be played out. Does creator Daniel Knauf (“Wolf Lake”) have an ambitious five-year view similar to what J. Michael Straczynski had in mind from the inaugurate for “Babylon 5″? We will have to wait and seek.

With a exhibit like “Carnivàle” it is easy (and fun) to play with various antecedents that clarify the series in simple but readily understood terms. From the open I was thinking of the note as a putrid between John Steinbeck’s “The Grapes of Wrath,” Tod Browning’s “Freaks,” and Stephen King’s “The Stand,” all of which I mediate to be classics in their respective genres. But there are other options as well (with Michael J. Anderson in the cast “Twin Peaks” becomes an definite choice), which simply speaks to the potential of “Carnivàle” to resonate with its viewers.
The premise of the explain is provided as the opening narration: “Before the beginning, after the substantial war between Heaven and Hell, God created the Earth and gave dominion over it to the crafty ape he called man. And to each generation was born a creature of light and a creature of darkness. And sizable armies clashed by night in the musty war between honorable and imperfect. There was magic then, nobility, and unimaginable cruelty. And so it was until the day that a deceptive sun exploded over Trinity, and man forever traded away wonder for reason.” The words are spoken by Samson (Anderson), who runs the traveling circus called Carnivàle, but answers to the unseen “Management” figure (voiced by an uncredited Linda Hunt) .

While traveling across the Oklahoma Dust Bowl in 1934, the Carnivàle comes across Ben Hawkins (Carve Stahl), who has escaped from prison and returned home in time to notice his mother (Lucinda Jenney) die and bury here before the tractors level their shack. Management wants Ben to join the caravan and given his spot with the law, he agrees. As the Carnivàle travels down to Texas we learn that Ben is plagued by weird visions of the trenches in the Grand War and that he has the power to heal. Meanwhile, in the California town of Mintern a minister named Brother Justin Crowe (Clancy Brown) believes that God is telling him what to minister to the growing number of Okies and other migrant workers streaming west, fleeing the Dust Bowl. Those who oppose Brother Justin’s plans derive themselves punished for standing in the plan.
Ben Hawkins and Brother Justin are the creatures of light and darkness foretold, and while their visions enjoy glimpses of each other, they are not going to meet during this first season of “Carnivàle.” Their meeting is inevitable and clearly will constitute the apocalyptic conclusion of this series, but at this point they are tranquil coming to terms with their places in this outlandish universe. Each man is trying to glean out about their mysterious past, where they came from, and what they can do with their powers. Eventually they will have to resolve what they should do with those powers and at the raze of the first season they face what will certainly be the first of several escelating crucibles.
While the focus is primarily on Ben Hawkins getting traditional to his power and Brother Justin doing his work with his older sister, Iris (Amy Madigan), there is also life in the travelling circus during the Tall Depression. Ben is of interest to Lodz (Patrick Bachauh), a mentalist who takes an active interest in the young man’s powers and who is keen with Lila (Debra Christofferson), the bearded lady. Meanwhile, Ben has taken an interest in Ruthie (Adrienne Barbeau), the snake charmer who is also the mother of the strong man, Gabriel (Brian Turk) . The person involved in Ben romantically appears to be Sophie (Clea DuVall), the tarot card reader who is also the medium for her comatose mother, Apollonia (Diane Salinger), who is pyschic. Jonesy (Tim Dekay), the manger of the rousties, is in admire with Sophie, but he gets alive to with the Dreifuss family that runs the Cootch Reveal, Stumpy (Toby Huss), the father who is the emcee, mother Rita Sue (Cynthia Ettinger), and daughters Dora Mae (Amanda Aday) and Libby (Carla Gallo) .
One of the strengths of “Carnivàle” is that what is going on in that travelling circus is fairly attractive even without throwing young Ben Hawkins into the mix. There is something intrinsically involving about how carny folk milk the marks for money, and there is a sense of personal pride in their professionalism that gives them a obvious level of dignity. In the short term, I do not know if I like the understanding that not all of them are going to be alive next season. Then, of course, there is the whole ogle of the present. Suffice it to say “Carnivàle” won Emmys for Outstanding Art Direction and Cinematography for a One-Camera Series, along with those for Costumes, Hairstyling, and Main Title Acquire (you could do a exquisite grand master’s thesis objective decoding that last one) .
The DVD series for the first season comes with three audio commentaries, a really short featurette on the making of the series, and a giant group discussion with the cast. The commentary for “Milfay,” the pilot episode, is the most essential one, and twice as wonderful as the other two keep together. It has Knauf, director Rodrigo Garcia, and executive producer Howard Klein on it, with the creator/writer and director doing most of the talking, who focus on how they cast the present and how the first episode evolved. We also gain the “Previously On” and “Next On” bits that HBO created for each episode.
I leer that “Carnivàle” is going to be a very maddening point to to those who want things to recede along at a brisk scurry, and there will be those who will abandon the prove long before it gets to the promised land (when the circus gets to California, probably in a couple of seasons) . But for those of us who remember how “Twin Peaks” fell apart when the hook of “Who killed Laura Palmer? ” became the line and (literal) sinker, or who felt “The X-Files” was adding to its mythology without getting any closer to a enormous attain, the belief that “Carnivàle” has been created with a definitive kill point in mind provide some measure of comfort. This first season provides an initial level of confidence and the potential for more, but in the ruin how helpful this series is with reach down to the quality of the final “blow off.” Given that the origin of “carnival” goes assist to the Roman festivals of Saturnalia and Lupercalia where there was a temporary subversion of civil order and that the term now refers to the holiday period of the two weeks before Lent, it could be something shapely apt. Besides, it is not on television: it is on HBO.
Some may complain that “Carnivale” leaves too many loose ends. I would argue that these people are entirely missing the show’s point. If you are the sort of person who likes things to be wrapped up all dapper with a slight bow, turn help now… Otherwise sit abet, and let the pure magic of this expose suck you in.
“Carnivale” has a dwelling that begs to be questioned, mysteries waiting to be theorized upon, and characters that you will truly savor (or esteem to disfavor) . It is a indicate you can discuss for hours on kill. The joy of it is not discovering the answers through the area itself, but by your contain deduction.

Season 8 (21 episodes airing 2000-2001) was the most atypical of all nine years of THE X FILES for several reasons:
Buy,Download, Or Stream The X-Files – The Complete Eighth Season! Click Here
1. Worthy of the season makes due without the services of David Duchovny.
2. Current characters, assuming key roles, are introduced.
Buy,Download, Or Stream The X-Files – The Complete Eighth Season! Click Here
3. An unprecedented percentage (nearly half) of the episodes are devoted to the mythology arc.
There is a noticeable, almost “symphonic”, symmetry to the season (composer Impress Snow’s haunting “Scully theme” functioning as “idee fixe”) with the mythology arc divided into several well-defined sections: an opening 2-part prelude, massive 5-part mid season “adagio” and stout 2-part finale.
The loss of David Duchovny’s burly participation actually had the attain of re-focusing THE X FILES. Chris Carter and company were save to the test in coming up with an lively and (somewhat) cohesive storyline that would work around the practical ( business related ) realities they faced slow the scenes. Though not without missteps, Season 8 succeeded both in revitalizing the dramatic intensity of the story arc and maintaining the shows inexorable momentum toward a conclusion revealing grand of Chris Carter’s longstanding underground project.
In Season 8 Gillian Anderson became the lynchpin of THE X FILES, continuing to summon up her grand skills in service to the display. The casting of Robert Patrick as Agent John Doggett was a stroke of genius; Doggett was written and acted in complete distinction to Mulder. This well-planned strategy allowed the imaginative landscape of THE X FILES to be viewed through the current eyes of a original character; in the process, some of the excitement of the show’s early years was regained for longtime aficionados. Additionally, a measure of stability and strength is found in the season-long emphasis of producing truly serious scripts. The result is a consistently “unlit” mood, similar to the melancholia found throughout Season 4. In fact, only in a short midseason wobble did the prove expose signs of upright weakness.
The “stand alone” scripts, while certainly not the main emphasis of Season 8, were noticeable improvements over the previous season:
Vince Gilligan’s ultra-violent “Roadrunners” (his only contribution in Season
is the single finest “stand alone” of the year, a savage parody of a religious sect ( barely disguised ) combined with an homage to the sci-fi classic “Invasion of the Body Snatchers”. This is the first episode (aired early in the season) in which it is apparent that Gillian Anderson and Robert Patrick really “click” as a team; a most fortunate happenstance as the fate of the remaining two years depend in grand fragment on their convincing onscreen chemistry. THE X FILES would never have maintained its integrity had the (platonic) Scully/Doggett partnership failed onscreen.
David Amann’s consuming “Invocation” is the first of several episodes over the course of the final 2 seasons that deal with the past event that most shaped Agent Doggett: the kidnapping and abolish of his son (“Empedocles” was the other script so featured in Season
.
Longtime staff writer Frank Spotnitz has a very prominent role in shaping Season 8; in addition to co-writing several episodes with Chris Carter, Spotnitz penned several solo scripts:
The advantageous “Via Negativa”, in addition to being friendly on its gain terms, has the additional virtue (shared with “Invocation”) of allowing Robert Patrick to flesh out his character (David Lynch style cinematography adds a visually disturbing element to the storyline) .
“The Gift” is one of the strangest X FILES episodes ever produced, a hallucinatory combination of “stand alone” and “mythology”, all the more bizarre for the flashbacks which (purportedly) account for Mulder’s pre-abduction illness.
“Alone” (aired tedious in the season) is essentially written for the elegiac touches of its final minutes, with Scully and Mulder humorously yet touchingly “passing the torch” on to a young and admiring FBI agent, the latter character symbolic of the legions of real (and often demanding) “X-Philes”.
Regarding the failures in Season 8:
“Earn”, “Distinct extinguish” and especially the base “Baddlea” should never have been aired. One of the most primary aspects of this complete DVD site will be to allow the viewer to bypass heinous episodes and concentrate on the otherwise laudable unity demonstrated throughout Season 8.
Regarding the mythology arc:
The aforementioned symphonic structure of the season begins with Chris Carter’s two-parter (“Within”/”Without”), which has the pregnant Scully searching for an abducted Mulder.
Carter and Spotnitz collaborate on the pivotal mid season block of mythology episodes dealing with the death and resurrection of Fox Mulder. One cannot aid but glance the debt owed to the 2nd/3rd season trilogy (“Anasazi” / “The Blessing Device” / “Paper Clip” ) .
Chris Carter wrote the season finale (“Essence”/”Existence”), which is the mirror image (in terms of title and spot) of the season opener. The series’ philosophical (indeed, theological) underpinnings, while by no means hidden in previous seasons, are laid bare with allusions and typological references to the Original Testament (as well as the metaphysics of Aquinas reflected in the episode titles) .
While “Essence”/”Existence” was fashioned in such a scheme as to provide a excellent conclusion to both the 8th season and the series as a whole (should it have ended in 2001), it turned out that many of its themes would be carried over into what would in actuality become the final year. THE X FILES would eventually complete its long (9 year) hurry in artistic and spiritual unity; a testimony to the integrity of cast, writers, crew and (above all) creative vision of Chris Carter.
Agent John Doggett (Robert Patrick) carries on the hunt for Mulder who Scully and Skinner bear has been abducted by aliens. Doggett’s a firm disbeliever until some bizarre things occur during the first two episodes of the season. Robert Patrick brought great needed focus and energy to the eighth season. While the eighth season didn’t match the highs of the best seasons of the display it had some strong outstanding episodes and it appeared after a wildly uneven 7th season that the present might actually be on track again. Agent Monica Reyes (Annabeth Gish) was introduced as a semi-regular during this season as well working in conjunction with Doggett and Scully.
Among the outstanding episodes are one in which Doggett and Mulder check out a oil refingery rig that’s pumping something other than oil, another stand out episode involves a tense one location in the deserted subway tunnels of Boston where something is literally dissolving passengers as they high-tail the rails. Doggett goes underground to investigate while Scully works against the clock to figure out if there’s a biological contagion. The conclusion is disappointing but the episode itself is a tense 45 minutes.
The 8th season saw a return to the spookier, darker episodes that made “The X-Files” a conclude cousin to “The Night Stalker”, “Trilogy of Horror” and “The Norliss Tapes” (three terrific made-for-TV movies) . There are those that argued that Patrick’s Doggett wasn’t as compelling as Mulder’s character and I’d have to disagree–over the short two seasons that Patrick played Doggett he created a character every bit as memorable as Duchovny’s Mulder and fair as different.
The 8th season reduced cost situation has commentary tracks on “Alone” by Frank Spotnitz and by Kim Manners on “Existence”. There are also a couple of episodes with deleted scenes that you can leer restored to the respective episodes via the main menu. We also have more of those goofy international clips but all the extras on the seventh disc aren’t included. The 8th season compares favorably to the first two seasons of “The X-Files” but not as well as when the point to was in pudgy swing with seasons 3, 4 5 and 6. Nevertheless, there’s tranquil plenty of quality episodes here.

As an Iraq weak I was skeptical about watching this at first, thinking that it would be a “Hollywoodized” version of the war. Then a buddy of mine told me it was by far one of the greatest shows he’s ever seen, so I gave it a go. Halfway through the first episode I was awestruck. Like the title of my review states, this demonstrate is brutal, relentless, and above all AUTHENTIC. Though I was with the Army, our job was very similar to these Marines in that we rode around in Humvees searching for the unpleasant guys.

Anyone who has served in Iraq in a combat role will characterize to these Marines all-too-easily. Well talk the same, have the same frustrations with the chain-of-command and notion our mission some days (though thankfully my unit did not have anyone like “Captain America”), and deal with the same issues regarding supplies, lack of sleep, and fighting an enemy who the day previously may have been begging you for food.
Some viewers may be turned off by the vulgar vulgarity and profanity, but fact is that is the plan most “grunts” talk. And I assume every Platoon or Squad in theater has its have “CPL Pearson.” Fact of the matter is, none of us are saints and war does bring out mankind at both its best and its worst. “Generation End” shows both sides to the Marines in the rawest sense. One thing I like is that it does not attempt to steal a political stance one plan or the other on the war. Some may notion the series as anti-war, given the plan some of the Marines inquire of their mission and why they are there. But again that is another reality of this war.

I never view I would ever want to study a movie or series about Iraq, however this is by far one of the best series I have ever seen, period! For anyone who is a archaic, knows a old-fashioned, or unbiased wants to know what the war over in Iraq is really like, “Generation Raze” is a must survey!

This HBO series is astonishing. It captured the proper meaning of being in the military. The political internal battle is captured with mammoth affects. The series reflects the bond soldiers produce with each other that no civilian can EVER experience. This is blueprint we bond for a lifetime and fight for our country. This is the military and a warrior in action on every level.
The writers, producers and actors did an outstanding performance in capturing the truth.

THE STORY: This kind of fun filled family movie is really hard to catch anymore. True from the fun opening song and opening credits, this animal comedy caper movie starts with a laugh and never stops. It is the record of a St. Bernard named Barabbas (after the biblical thief) that has been through 8 owners, all who give him up since he escapes from home to remove stuff. Barabbas spends a lot of time running from the dog catcher. He takes lunch bags, gloves, and the other things that interest a dog out for a stroll and he usually drops it somewhere when it doesn’t interest him anymore. But he meets the helicopter pilot (Dwayne Hickman) for a radio dwelling whose traffic reporting puts people to sleep and they hit it off – and together on the air they turn the sagging ratings around. During an unscheduled close for a dogy wreck, the dog steals a lunchbox from some genuine thieves, and it has a million dollar necklace inside. The pilot, his current girl Mary Ann Mobley), and the dog are in grief from the desperate thieves when the dog is kidnapped. And all of this is occurring while the pilot tries to retain his horse-sized dog hidden from his landlady. If you like dogs, you will really connect with this movie.

BEHIND THE SCENES: Directed by a Disney powerhouse, Robert Stevenson, who directed over 20 of the studio’s biggest hits including Darby O’Gill, Mary Poppins, Blackbeards Ghost, The Worship Bug, Kidnapped, The Absent Minded Professor, and Ancient Yeller fair to mention a few. One of the things that really works in this movie is the huge supporting cast, all of which had been in other Disney features. Elsa Lanchester as apartment landlady and Disney regular Joe Flynn as the radio space manager are two perfect examples. Charles Lane has a bit fragment as the owner of a dog food company. Roger C. Carmel and Michael Shaugnessy are the bungling jewel thieves. The catchy opening song was written by Terry Gilkyson, who also wrote “The Bare Necessities” song for Disney’s The Jungle Book. The song really explains and sets the stage for what is to arrive. This was originally created as a movie for the weekly “Astounding World of Disney” present, and it aired for the first time as a two fragment episode on September 21 & 28 1969. It re-aired 19 April of 1975, and again on July 1979. It was also edited to be released theatrically to the overseas market in 1970, and this is the version we peep here. It was done so well, that you can’t place any places where they usually edit for commercials.
DVD ISSUE: January 2006 saw the movie’s release to DVD, in a fleshy mask format and mono sound as it was originally filmed for television. The unusual allotment is that the color on my venerable VHS release is grand better than the unique DVD, where they did not bother to do a re-master or improve the report in any arrangement. There are no extra features her either, no cartoons, or slack the scenes footage. Bottom line is, set your ragged copy of the VHS, until a better copy comes out. The movie itself is a accepted of mine, charming and comic, distinguished better than many more notorious Disney movies.

I loved this movie the first time I saw it and have seen it at least a dozen times since. It is a distinguished fable told as seen through the eyes and lives of three friends who are living in Paris during the riots. The direction of this movie is appetizing and so is the character development. A magnificent job is done in introducing each of the three main characters and in giving a bit of insight in to each of their personal lives. One is a tough guy with a chip on his shoulder and something to point to, another a kindly guy who has no choice but to sell hash to abet his family, and the third a kid who doesn’t seem to care about worthy other than getting laid and trying to ticket his friends. What really caught me about this movie was how realistic I found it. It was comic and hard and right and disturbing and fantastic. I highly recommemend this film to anyone who enjoys quality and substance. It has an AWESOME soundtrack too!!!
Quite recently in East Germany eight Indian tourists were beaten up by some fifty neo-nazis. Being an American from a slight, relatively terrible town, I have also witnessed some heated racial tensions. While not to the improper as the modern violence in East Germany, I have heard a number of words from people, even some I assume myself end to, that were quite horrid because they had no sincere basis besides the fact that the people were of a different skin color and religion. Mathieu Kassovitz’s, who is unfortunately probably best known in America for his bomb Gothika, film La Haine, brings to the fore racial tensions in France especially in awful communities.

La Haine centers on three friends: Vinz, a Jew, Hubert, a unlit guy, and Saïd, an Arab. This unusual trio use there days living within the confines of a ghetto where violence rules the streets. While far from being innocent themselves, the three young men mainly steal in altercations sharp the police, who harass them primarily because of their cultural stock and neo-nazis. While many might frown with the words police and neo-nazis being uttered in the same sentence, within the film the tactics worn by both groups differ microscopic. Anyway, after a modern altercation, a friend of the trio named Abdel was seriously injured by the police. Vinz, Vincent Cassel, the most hot-headed of the group, is certain to glean even with the police if their friend dies. Normally his words would be viewed as nothing more as hot air, but he happens to have a gun dropped by a cop…
La Haine is a very strong sad and white film that will often compose the viewer glum while watching it especially if the viewer has some qualms with “authority figures” and the abuse of power. While I was watching the film I could literally feel myself become indignant while Hubert and Saïd were being violently mistreated by un-uniformed police. Besides its representation of the abuse of power upon minorities, the film also gives a graphic explain of the hopelessness felt by a number of individuals stuck in unpleasant communities. With itsy-bitsy chance of finding a apt job or education, many of these individuals do turn to crime and to violent demonstration. However, faced with continued oppression by racist, rightist conservatives, sometimes the only choice is to go to extremes in order to be heard.
